ARCHAEOLOGY

At the end of II millenium b.C., during the age of Bronze, was developed in the island of Sardinia a type of defensive structure: the 'nuraghi'. The complex consists of circular towers in form of truncated cones constructed en polished stone, with internal cameras of ceilings cupulares. The complex of Barumini, declared patrimony by UNESCO in 1997, represents one of the most interesting and complete examples of this remarkable form of prehistoric architecture.
